There are many ways to create your own keyboard layout. If you are a programmer, you can just code your own keyboard with code that is provided for free on various websites. However, typically the most efficient way to create a new layout is by downloading an existing one and modifying it with your preferred key definition files. This article will attempt to provide you with all the necessary tools and resources, so that even if this is not something you have done before, fingers crossed! For those who do not know what Autocom 20133 is, it's an open source smart-keyboard which supports multiple layouts inspired by Dvorak. You can learn more about the keyboard at the official website. What you'll need:Also make sure you have an image editor. Notepad++ or TextWrangler are both good options, but I prefer to use Paint.NET because it is more intuitive and has a built-in image auto-save which you might need later on. 1. First things first, go to the Autocom's download section and grab a copy of the 20133 keyboard layout . Or you could download a newer version of the layout from there, but I don't recommend it if this is your first time making a new keyboard layout out of an existing one. Now head over to http://www. keyboard-layouts.com/ and download the Dvorak_20133_Autocom_20133.rar archive. 2. You'll see an image of a keyboard with a bunch of files inside, you'll need to copy the whole thing, but it's easier if you select certain categories first before going to copy all. Now head back to the previous page and right-click on the .rar archive and select Extract All from the option that appears as shown below: 3. Select your preferred format, in my case I chose PNG as it is a better choice for a web based image from where pictures will be hosted(from now on I'll use "PNG" as reference). 4. Now that your file is ready, let's start editing it. I'm going to change the layout and keys and go through the keyboard in detail, so it might be a little bit difficult to understand what is happening in the file, so if you get confused you can skip ahead to the next chapter and we'll go through it there. First we need to update two things: a) We change "Shift" into "Meta". Later on we will create a new key for this, but for now just do that by double-clicking on the "Meta" key in the Keyboard Layouts page and typing "Meta" into it. b) We change some keyboard labels. To do this, hold Ctrl and click on the key, then double click on the label below it to edit it. We are going to change "Backspace" into "Delete", "Tab" into "Fn", "Print Screen" into "PScr", and also change the label of Caps Lock into something more appropriate. I changed mine into "Caps" because later on I will define a new key which works just like how Caps Lock does. 5. cfa1e77820
